Our Holiday Open House starts tomorrow - Friday at 10:00 - We will be giving away to the first 50 customers on Friday and Saturday,(November 11th & 12th) our absolute favorite Holiday candle. Last year I had trouble keeping these in stock. We have included a votive holder and a fortune just for fun. So come early.

Our front window is icy blue. And as you can see below - we are full of crazy birds.

The leaves are everywhere in Camas !!!!

I love the leaves on the streets this time of year they are everywhere - I am sure they cause some problems - but they are such a statement for this time of year. We of course have some great items for fall decorating in the store.

Susan Kashas "GIGI" has set up in the front window - I think with Natalie's help "SPARROW" - of course with fall it is extremely warm and inviting.

Amanda, "Girl in Pink" has channeled Beatrix Potter in the small window - that turned out so charming - I am sure she spent a few hours cutting out paper leaves. You can see more photos on her blog.

Thank you Laurie & Debbie (Worthy Goods) for putting together such a great group of dealers for the Vintage Street Faire. I have some photos but hopefully others took more and better photos. We like to give a gift to our customers at our events - we are so appreciative of our loyal customers- This weekend we will be giving these scrabble tile necklaces to the first 50 customers on Friday and Saturday. Billie of Brocanteur Vintage made these for us - I love, love, love, how they turned out. We will be serving Complimentary Italian Sodas again on Friday - I think Tommy will be our bartender - and yes you can tell him you don't want to hear a joke or a riddle - or make his day and listen to one. It is coming very soon - Our Store sale starts on Friday August 26th - 10:00 to 6:00 - That day we will be serving Complimentary Italian Soda's. The street faire starts Saturday morning at 9:00. We will also be having appraisals that day in front of the store, $5.00 per item, limit 2 items per visit - this money will be donated to the Downtown Camas Association. On both Friday & Saturday the first 50 customers will receive a free gift & our Store Sale prices continue thru Sunday.

Marci and Glen of 4th & Birch setup another fabulous window with incredible Wine accessories - come to the store and check out the wine cabinet Glen made from an old record player cabinet.

One of my favorite windows in Camas Antiques history - Marci & Glen of 4th and Birch - put together this "Glamping" window - s'mores and a chandelier - Perfect. - If someone set this up for me - I would go camping.

It has been a long time in his mind - but Tommy finally finished this Union Jack dresser - he saw one like it on
Miss mustard seed blog and wanted to see if he could pull it off - We both love how it turned out.

Here is a photo of our slipper covered feet on Mother's Day - I indulged myself, my daughter-in-law Amber, my sister-in-law Rachelle and my Nieces Brynn & Keersten with slippers from the store. For each of the 19 participating businesses you visit you will be dealt one card, you can choose your best 5 cards to form your hand. There will be 5 winning hands.

Top prize will be a night out in Camas - A Wonderful Dinner @ Olivers, Movie tickets for the Liberty Theatre & a room at the fabulous Camas Hotel. There will be 4 other prize baskets awarded. Billie of Brocanteur Vintage has moved back into the front window - and we are thrilled to have her back up front. Check out the following photos.

In celebration of Easter when you purchase something from Billie you get to choose an egg for a discount..

In the small window I have focused on some draperies that I found Circa 1960 - I loved the brightness & color .

The Heart necklaces are from a company called Silver Spoon jewelery.

It does look very "springy", not sure if that is a real word.

Complete with mustache straws that my grandson Ethan loved.

Chris has great mannequins and handmade hats. This one with the bird has a nest on top.

We couldn't have a party without gifts - our Camas Antiques bags had a travel sewing kit - lotion & Candy.

I had to share these photos - my Granddaughter Paisley turned 5 last month - she called me and asked for high heel shoes - so of course I went straight to Nordstrom like any other crazy Nana would do - There were if you can believe it 4 choices of high heel shoes for little girls. Yes these feet belong to a 5 year old.

Very, very, tiny glass cloches - I had to have.

Raylene and I both took turns walking around the store looking for tiny items to put in these glass cloches - they are going to be perfect in my miniature garden when I add to it this spring. They range in price from $1.00 to $4.95 (about 1 inch to 4 inches in height. One of my finds from Atlanta.

Jennifer & Blaine (dealer TIME) have moved into our small display window - I love the shelf Blaine made and all of the paper birds - Jennifer loves to merchandise and she comes and plays at the store all of the time - I really appreciate what she does.

First Friday in March will be "Arts & Letters" - March 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 - Local Authors and Student art will be featured in participating business. There will be readings from the Authors @ Journey church across the street from the store. visit downtowncamas.com for more information.

I am home from Atlanta and I did find great things that will be showing up at the store in the next couple of months - and yes as I promised myself I did put some effort into organizing my office - But spent last night putting together a dreamy bedroom in the big display window.

Tommy took the door off of an armoire that I had and added shelfs and painted it for me. The door didn't close right - but looks good just on it's own hanging on the wall. It is a great piece from Cambridge, England. Now of course I would like to take it home - but it is for sale.

January is the time to organize, right?

Which I have promised myself I am going to do in my office when I get back from Atlanta. Here are some photos of our small window in front of the store.

Marci & Glen have transformed the front window into a general store - complete with a checker game ready to play and a great rattan wrapped bicycle.

We are set up for valentine's day - I found a great old candy tin.

And one thing we are never short of in the store are birds.

As I said I am off to Atlanta - my plane leaves in 2 hours and so far they haven't canceled it yet. I will again venture off to find some great gifts & home decor items that work well with the vintage furniture that we all love - see you in the store soon.

My Dream House

For many of you that know me know that I have loved the Farrell house for a long time - It was built by Charlie Farrell who built the building that houses Camas Antiques. It was purchased recently by Heidi Curley - who by the way is wonderful and has shared the house with everyone that attended our recent Holiday Home tour. I was lucky enough to help with some of the rushed decorating to get the house in shape to show - It was a late night/early morning task - but I loved how my bedroom (in reality it belongs to Heidi) turned out. My only regret is that I missed Laurie (worthy goods) Cookie exchange. I am sharing some other photos of the house that I decorated with items from Camas Antiques.

I also decorated a small bedroom for Heidi's daughter Grace - The floral on the wall is a french needlepoint cartoon on consignment at the store.

The store is very busy right now - but lots of great things to look at - Hope to see you soon.

Our Holiday Season has begun and the Christmas Music is playing, (much to Margaret's dismay) Holiday candle's are burning & everyone is in a great mood - Even with our crazy busy Holiday open house. This is a photo of our Cody Foster houses that are filling our small display window.

This is one of our new dealers Chloe Rose - she has a small space but fills it full and High - I love Her fresh sprigs of greenery. Christa is so busy it took her forever to come to Camas Antiques but for us it was worth the wait.

I was so excited when I found this vintage cake carrier in the store at the perfect time.

An Incredible 5 hours.

Last Saturday at Barnhouse it all seemed to happen very fast - it was extremely busy and so much fun. I can understand why everyone loves to do these shows. I am so glad joe & jermonne asked us to participate. I of course forgot my camera that day - Tracey took this photo.

Everyone was intrigued with the mini-garden that we took to Barnhouse - We sell the small garden pieces in the store. It is in the store now if you would like to take a look.

In the Middle of all of the Barnhouse set up - Billie (Brocante Vintage) and laura (two birds vintage) re-did the front window - they have a large space in the back of the store - I love their style.

I have been waiting patiently to do a window around this bed. Collecting embroidered pillows, etc. We have had such great guests in the window I have enjoyed sitting back and watching everyone else make the window look great, But I have to admit it is fun to put a look together.

After I finished the window - I thought I should have done these colors in my guest room at home.

This is a very tall working wall clock that I orderd from a french company.

I know that I tend to match colors too much - but I just can't seem to help myself.

I love this little chair - see what I mean about the matching colors thing.

I have been looking for an excuse to break out the Chocolate Fountain. So to Celebrate our Downtown Camas Theme for First Friday in February - Please join us from 5:00 to 8:00 this Friday Feb. 5th and indulge in dipping marshmallows, pretzels, cookies etc. into the melted chocolate. I know it will make a mess but so worth the trouble. There will be several other Downtown Camas businesses serving and selling wonderful chocolate and other romantic gifts.

Debbie and Laurie are going to be featured in our Large Display Window after Valentine's Day. I Love the looks that they put together and can't wait to see a whole room of it in our front window. You may remember Debbie and Laurie of "Worthy Goods" who organized our "Vintage Street Faire" last September - even though it rained - which you will remember when you see this photo of them - their smiles never faded.

It was created by the very talented Clark Crawford of Camas Antiques and was submitted into this years pumpkin pageant in Downtown Camas. Clark's pumpkins have taken first place the past two years and took second place this year. Last years winning pumpkin was Dolly Parton and can be seen HERE. I want to begin this blog by featuring a new dealer space at Camas Antiques.

Gifty Chix can be found on the main floor of Camas Antiques. This dealer recently moved her scrabble and domino pendants from a glass case to this much bigger space and has filled it with so many lovely items. If you are looking for a gift this is definitely a booth you will want to check out. I believe her items will fly out of this booth, in fact the dresser already sold and was picked up today!
